I’m hoping three to four weeks will see it completed, which should allow some testing before the Birkett.

I went through the same thing on coolant plumbing and in the end decided to do without Al pipes & Bends almost completely for the same reason you quote .. to minimise joints. So I went with almost all hose and eliminated loads of jubilee clips. Keep pushing
